Kinderchor Summer Institute

July 21-25, 2008

9:00 am to 4:00pm 

    

      The Kinderchor Children’s Choir Institute will welcome adult participants as well as ALL Kinderchor members.

   For adults, sessions include score preparation, rehearsal strategies for young choirs, pedagogy, and literature review.  Kinderchor choirs will serve as a laboratory setting for workshop participants.  One to four hours of graduate credit can be earned.  Central Ohio fee waivers from public schools are accepted.

   All Kinderchor members are required to attend this 5-day non-resident music camp.  Our youngest Explorers, ages 6-7, attend on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, 9 AM to noon.  Friday will invite them to stay until 12:30 PM to enjoy pizza with everyon.  Music staff for the week includes Kinderchor staff members, music students from Otterbein College and community music teachers.

    The Institute offers choristers voice lessons, music theory, ear training,  music skills classes using computer technology, choral rehearsal, international folk dance, drama as well as small group and large group games.

    Friday July 25 at noon will be the Annual Pizza Party.  We sing our summer concert at the Park of Roses on Sunday, July 27 at 7 PM.  Join us for this FREE performance.   Civitan of North Columbus hosts us.  This organization benefits children with special needs.

Tuition is $300 for the week which is due July 21. if a Kinderchor member cannot attend all 5 days of the institute, the fee will be $200 for one to three days, and full tuition for four to five days.
